KAVA
Kava comes from the Pacific islands. Available in tea or in capsules. The liquid is bitter.
Promotes a feeling of relaxation. Unlike alcohol or valium, does not numb the mind. In fact it induces a slight feeling of alertness. It will have a sedating effect a few hours later when it is time to sleep. Take late in the afternoon or early evening.
Good to take a 1/2 hour before boarding a plane or for car-sickness.
Excellent to take prior to going to the dentist. Relieves anxiety and is also a mild
analgesic (like Tylenol or Aspirin)
Kava paste has a numbing effect - good for tooth or gum pain Kava spray is available for sore throats. Also a good relaxant for skeletal muscles
Kava has no reported side effects with the recommended dosage. Take 2-3 times per week.
