Hello Everyone!!!!

WORD... WATER... WALK...

WWW usually stands for World Wide Web but I would like to suggest that WORD... WATER... WALK is a great way to go!!!

Word

The first W involves your daily reading and confessing the Word of God, receiving His promises for healing and health. Meditation on God’s Word is essential to your mental and spiritual health, which directly affects your physical health. I encourage you to spend at least a few minutes every day quietly meditating on God’s love for you as He reveals that love through His Word.

Water

You should drink at least one-half of your body weight in ounces of water each day. For most of us, this is about eight to ten glasses of water daily.
Your body requires adequate water to function properly. Your neurological pathways require water to function normally. As you dehydrate, your brain will actually shrink. Also, if you lack energy, it is very possible that you are dehydrated. Water helps deliver oxygen throughout the body’s tissues that is necessary for energy. If you have an illness or disease, water helps detoxify your cells and flush disease-causing toxins out of the body.
Water also helps nutrients circulate throughout the body, improves kidney function and prevents kidney stones. Other vital functions water facilitates in the body include:

  • Lubricating our joints
  • Preventing constipation
  • Keeping skin moist and supple
  • Helping keep respiratory tract healthy
I recommend filtered or bottled water, especially if your water is highly chlorinated or contains unsafe levels of fluoride or chemicals.

Walk

I know many of you may not like to do strenuous exercise; some of you may not be physically able to do it. But most of us can walk! Inactivity is a major cause of our physical as well as mental ills. A total lack of physical activity can cause our brains and bodies to deteriorate. Walking works the major lower body muscles and is considered one of the most valuable of all exercise forms.
Start walking. Begin by walking to the end of your block or street or even just to the mailbox. You don’t have to change drastically overnight—just begin including a short walk in your day. Perhaps you can find a buddy and walk and pray together. Start with just five minutes and see if you can work up to a half-hour of steady walking.

Cordially,

Helen Pensanti, MD
